Your base is in an alien base that the humanity discovered, when you start mostly of it will just empty rooms full of debris, so you can assign a character to explore the room, the character can find resources, or random battles. The game is a mix of base building and turn based RPG, and it works really well. In the current version there is only the first act but I feel the core gameplay is already implemented.
